For the most international travelers, they do not have a credit card in China. But credit cards Visa and Mastercard are in most cash machines (with VISA or MasterCard logos in them) adopted in China. You can obtain money from these dealers in China by using your VISA or MasterCard credit cards American. China UnionPay is now the partner of Discover, and they have an agreement reached that the holders of Discover cards to make purchases and money from ATM machines in China allow.
