Question: Relative to other US airline carriers, what is Continental Airlines considered in terms of services and fare?
I am not very familiar with the airline industry. I am trying to map out the services and fares compared to the industry as a whole. Just looking at the major competitors here: Delta, Continental, Delta, American, US Airways, JetBlue, and Southwest. Any objective information, relative to the listed would be great.

Continental is tranditionally pared up for Biz travel so compared to other airlines Continental is high quality. The fares all depend on what region and the time of year they are competing for their customers. But typically and personally I would pay a little more just to fly Continental vs Delta or US air anyday. . <-- well it also depends on the aircraft but in most cases I stand with my statement.

Question: Any tips for changing airline carriers during the same flight?
At the end of May, I will be flying from Birmingham, AL to St.Paul, Minnesota. I start the flight on American Airlines, lay over in Chicago, then continue to MSP on Northwest Airlines. I’m concerned about my luggage and any potential problems during this flight. I have a 1 hour layover flying from BHM to MSP and I have a 3 hour layover on the flight home with the same airline change. I welcomed any advise or guidance

Time Wise-your good on the way back, but it might be tight on the way there, depending the the size of the airport and the location of the gate.

your luggage will transfer over to the next flight, even though it is on a different airline, just make sure you tell this to the worker at the check in counter so they know to check it on both flights.

Question: What airline carriers fly from South Korea to LAX?
I’m looking for carriers (other than Korean air) that fly between ICN and LAX; I would like for them not to be connected to Korean Air (EX: Delta, you may buy the ticket from Delta but you fly on Korean Air). I just need a cheap price carrier. Also has anyone flown on China Airlines? How was that?

China Airlines is a good airline, not as good as some of the other Asian carriers, but better than any of the American carriers. Asiana is another Korean airline and is probably better than KAL, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific among others also fly to LAX from ICN. I’ve flown on China Airlines before in business class, and although they didn’t have full-flat beds, I thought their seats and service were excellent.

We are planning a trip to South Africa and will have a layover in Paris. We would like to spend a couple days in Paris before continuing to South Africa. We found a deal online from our city in the US, Chicago, on one airline carrier. However, it does not fly to South Africa. Can we book another carrier from Paris to South Africa but still use that same carrier back to Chicago?

Of course you can, but be aware that it can be more expensive. Call your travel agent or book seperate flights on each airline. If the airlines are codeshared, then you may be in for a cheap ticket.
