I’ve done a lot of research on these helicopters, but aside from an article about a crash that mentioned a fire extinguisher and (as far as I could understand) one or two small fires, all I’ve been able to find out is how fire resistant the fuel tanks are. But, if a Black Hawk is shot down, could it actually catch fire?
I realize that all crash scenarios would have different results, but I have enormous respect for the US military in Iraq and would hate to write anything insultingly inaccurate.
