Any tips for changing airline carriers during the same flight?

Question: Any tips for changing airline carriers during the same flight?
At the end of May, I will be flying from Birmingham, AL to St.Paul, Minnesota. I start the flight on American Airlines, lay over in Chicago, then continue to MSP on Northwest Airlines. I’m concerned about my luggage and any potential problems during this flight. I have a 1 hour layover flying from BHM to MSP and I have a 3 hour layover on the flight home with the same airline change. I welcomed any advise or guidance

Time Wise-your good on the way back, but it might be tight on the way there, depending the the size of the airport and the location of the gate.

your luggage will transfer over to the next flight, even though it is on a different airline, just make sure you tell this to the worker at the check in counter so they know to check it on both flights.

Have a good trip!

Question: Does travel insurance cover changing a flight because of a death in the family?
My nan has terminal cancer and the doctors say she only has a month at the most left. I go on holiday in 5 weeks time and if she passes away i want to attend the funeral which may cut a few days into my holiday. Do you know if my travel insurance would enable me to change my flight for a few days later so i won’t miss the funeral.

Question: Due to the current oil spill in the gulf, my family and I are changing vacation plans. Any ideas?
I would like to take my family on vacation in a beach location. My wife and I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old that we will be bringing with us. Great family accommodations a must. Great golf a plus. I would really like to give them a great vacation and the oil spill in the gulf scares me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

San Diego – especially for the great golf opportunities. It’s got a terrific climate and a huge number of tourist activities. you could also go to one of the East Coast beaches in Florida, Virginia Beach (and visit Williamsburg while you’re there) or Myrtle Beach – another golfing Mecca.
