What are some beach destinations on the east coast?

Question: What are some beach destinations on the east coast?
A friend & I are trying to plan a trip for August – someplace on the beach. My friend wants to go to Virginia Beach so I’ve already found a couple places there but I want to have more options. So I’ve been looking into Hilton Head, SC; Providence, RI; Myrtle Beach, SC; Boston, MA.

We live on Long Island, NY and would like to be able to road trip to wherever it might be. Money is no object. The only issue is that I’m 18 & she’s 19. So the hotel has to have 18+ check in. Which sucks because condo rentals are out since they’re 25+ mostly.

Any ideas on where we could go based on that?

Thanks!

Depends on who owns the rights to place a mooring. On lakes and rivers it is typically the property owners. In ocean harbors it is typically the local city authority. If you do not own the right to a mooring, then you rent it of the season.

Two of the Great Lakes: the fantastic bike on the coast of Michigan and the thrill of the Mighty Mackinac Bridge

0

My wife and I needed a short break in our lives daily operation of a retail business. Julie had the bright idea a few days stay at the Inn of the legs on Lake Michigan in Cross Village (the name comes from the oven legs painted on the roof, really).

The knowledge of the road that leads south fantastic, I agreed and reservations. Michigan may not be the tail of the dragon, but we have the M-119 highway, and I urge you to drive 20 miles to find good everywhere. It goes from Harbor Springs to Cross Village and the road is just beautiful bike I found in my home state.

Since his back surgery, Julie is only good for an hour or two at a time on the back of my 2004 BMW Rockster, we agreed that it rise to Cross Village in his car. We left yesterday morning and early black and lifted the 119 north of Petoskey. We made good time and have been teased with light rain a few times. The sun was creeping when we arrived in Petoskey and were treated to our first spectacular view of Lake Michigan from a hill there. We negotiated our way through the traffic and took the head that we have the fun.

Call M-119 ‘road bystander “because there are so many things on the street is called his” Tunnel of Trees “because it sneaks through a fantasy forest. M-119 presents unique challenges for the driver. It is not as wide as a normal two-lane road, a few corners, sand, and you share the road with motorized vehicles and cyclists. Some trees are just a few inches of road base and with the exception of a few picturesque image, there is really no shoulder on the road.

The traffic was light as we pulled out of Harbor Springs for the 20-mile roller coaster ride in our cabin. I arrived on the gas of the Rockster and legs Inn with a dose of Perma-grin. The Legs Inn is a marvel to look at, built of stone and wood and decorated with furniture made of driftwood and hand carvings. The interior is like a hunting lodge and psychedelic outside a beautiful garden with stunning view of Big Lake. It was built by Polish immigrant Stanley Smolak, when he came to the village in 1921.

The house specialty is a mixture of Polish cuisine and fresh fish. Julie had for lunch and white borscht I made short work of kalumpki (cabbage rolls). Later that evening, I chose the pork loin and Julie approached the goulash. We crowned by separating szarlotka is a traditional Polish dessert, a cake multi berry and apple crumb with vanilla ice cream. It was fantastic. We have a beautiful sunset from the garden and drank the last of our Belgian beer before returning to the cabin. It was a gentle rain that night, but in the morning the sky was clear.

After a quick stop for some delicious pastries in the bakery Mackinaw City, we crossed the Mackinac Bridge in the Upper Peninsula. Crossing the Mighty Mac is like a ride carnival for me, I will be happy to pay the toll for the pleasure of riding almost 200 feet in the air over the Straits of Mackinac, and some large timber ship under the bridge by the lake where Michigan meets Lake Huron. Such a vision is not the cup of tea for all, the good news is that the Bridge Authority is more for your car or motorcycle you have.

We originally wanted to be up to 75 from St. Ignace to Sault Ste. to observe Marie the boats pass through the famous Soo Locks, but I changed my plans on the fly after about five miles straight (read: boring). Constituency We exit the highway 134 and the line took for Detour Village, the view of. Lake Huron were wonderful and there, many places to stop and walk on the beach or just the view.

We were very hungry when we have the detour Village. A lady, peeling potatoes in his driveway was us a few blocks to hostel mainsail. I had had a great burger rye with Swiss and Julie were a sandwich with whitefish that just made from the water.

On the way back to 75 we are in a few places a walk to enjoy the beach and the beauty of northern Michigan. The return on the bridge was a bit more difficult than in the morning because of the cross wind speed. I realized how much he beams when I conducted a semi-final and it blocks the wind for a few seconds.

From downtown

Mackinaw City, we went west on Central Avenue provides back under the bridge and toward the desert State Park Nice sweepers and winding road on a regulation size to two lanes with shoulders for fun. We returned to and got on County Road 81, which took us back to Cross Village. The route led us back is not clear, no matter who I see online map I just kept heading west until I go back to the south. What a Hoot while the road surface had, it was full of large curved landscapes combined interspersed forest, dunes and Lake Michigan.

Our house

street Monday was a much more picturesque than we made in our haste to get to the north. We made a last lap 119 and then took Highway 31 south of the United States, which is along the coast near enough all the way from Traverse City. Traverse City has long been known for cherries and the region for the large estates, of which many outside the Old Mission Peninsula, about 18 miles

Grand Traverse Bay projects are famous.

After visiting the tip of the peninsula, we returned to the city. From there we took the long way home from 72 to the kingdom of fire, so that we can use them M22, another major highway in Michigan instead. There were some really wonderful bit of fun winding of the motor as we made it all the way south until it again meets 31st

When we reached Scottsville, home (thought dang I am, I have my mittens.) is the world famous Clown Band, Michigan has decided that they had given us enough time to perfect the open air I pulled over and on top of my rain suit as the temperature dropped into the low 50s. I thought maybe if we went inland to the east on 10 to over 37 and then south into the house, you can avoid some of the rain. Ha! The last of more than 100 miles under a steady rain which was quite difficult at times been. When I hit the garage, I was ready for a hot shower.

Overall it was a great ride, 836 miles were from end to end, 80 of 119 . I went four times, twice solo and twice with Julie on her back. If you see fantastic coastal district, the thrill of the Mighty Mac, and the ability and appreciate some of the largest bodies of fresh water on Earth, so on up in Michigan and are sometimes a part of my style, you will love it.
