Question: Is it better to visit Park City, Utah in December or February for a ski/snowboarding trip?
A family friend just moved out to Salt Lake City and have invited us to visit anytime we want. I have school breaks at Christmas time and late February, and was wondering which time is a better time, factoring in ski conditions/weather, general airfare prices from NYC, and crowds. Also which are the best places to ski/board, as some of the family skis, and other snowboard.

You would be better off to come in Feb. Christmas is always busy. The snow is deeper in February, and there are fewer people on the mountains because they are getting sick of winter by then.
Brighton is great if you want to ski and board. The Canyons is great as well. If you want a smaller non tourist type resort try Beaver Mountain near Logan. It is smaller, but not very much $ $ $ and never crowded

From where? I guess from the US. Start browsing airlines which go to Honduras like Copa or Taca. However I have to tell you that December is the most expensive season and it doesnt matter when you buy the ticket, Christmas season is always busy and expensive so the quickest you buy the ticket the better.

Question: Would Hawaii or Florida be better for a small family vacation in late December?
Well I was confused because my family wanted to go to either Hawaii(any island, there’s no island in mind) or would you think Florida is better for a vacation around December 26-31? If you knew anything about those places like weather, fun things to do for the family, maybe even personal experiences you would like to share, shopping, dining, ideas and just mainly I want to know which destination would be better for a family to just have fun in the sun. All I can say is Florida has better malls, like sawgrass outlet mall – http://www.tripcart.com/usa-regions/Southern-Florida/shopping-malls/Sawgrass-Mills.html
And Hawaii has better Pineapple – don’t miss the Dole factory tour on Oahu.
Anyway – both places are really fun. If your family is interested in nature – Hawaii is probably better. I guess it also depends opn where you llive.

Question: Budget Honeymoon in Kauai in December?
I’m looking for affordable accommodations near Kapaa Hawaii in early December for my new wife and I. We’ve never been to Hawaii, and have never done the whole vacation rental thing. I’m not sure whether to do a hotel, resort, vacation home rental, or studio rental! Obviously we want to be away from crowds, but don’t want to have to worry about cleaning up after ourselves (as home rentals don’t have daily maids).
At the same time, privacy is a major thing. Not sure if there’s nice rooms at uncrowded resorts/hotels. I’m trying to spend under a hundred dollars per night. It seems that vacation rentals’ cleaning fees end up making the total cost similar to hotel rooms.
I also hear that food is expensive, so we’re looking for something with a kitchen, so that we have that option if necessary. Thanks for any advice!

First, you ain’t going to Kauai cheap, so forget about that ($ 100/night will get you a flea bag with crappy views and zero privacy … budget at least $ 150/$ 200 if you want that). Rental properties are probably all filled by now, so good luck there. Lowest prices are the south shore area, with prices rising as you go up the east coast until you hit the north shore (west is pretty much all military installations).

I know you can go to the casino and to the restaurants but using the waterpark as a visitor, I don’t know. When you check in they give you a wrist band. I think it’s worth the effort to e-mail them. Here is their website.
