0

Following a smash debut at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in September, award-winning cabaret vocalist and Broadway actor Eric Michael Gillett returns to NYC’s smartest supper club with “All My Best”, a collection of his favorite songs from the concert evenings that have brought him national acclaim, coupled with a sneak preview of his first Great American Songbook composer tribute, an evening devoted to Harold Arlen, which will debut in Summer 2010.   “All My Best” will be seen at Feinstein’s on Friday and Saturday nights, January 15 & 16, at 8:30 PM.

For reservations, call 212. 399. 4095.

The recipient of the Mabel Mercer Foundation’s 2009 Dick Gallagher Award for his performing and directorial contributions to the world of cabaret, Eric Michael Gillett will continue his national concert/cabaret appearances with upcoming engagements at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on March 6 (“Best of My Love”) and in St. Louis at the Kranzberg Arts Center April 7-11 (“Widescreen”).   Simultaneously, he’ll be juggling directorial duties for Sheera Ben-David’s Feinstein’s debut in April, as well as developing a new cabaret act for Tony-Award nominee and Oak Room artist Karen Akers.   Gillett, Rebic and Akers last collaborated on the five-week sold-out Oak Room engagement “Akers Sings Porter: Anything Goes” which is now touring concert venues throughout North America.

Gillett, who appeared on Broadway in the original casts of “Sweet Smell of Success”, “The Frogs”, and the Tony Award-winning revival of “Kiss Me, Kate” continues his acting career with the upcoming feature film from Magdaline Pictures, “The Third Testament”, due for release in 2010.   At the same time, the former Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Ringmaster returns to the world of the Big Top as guest director of 2010’s 33rd edition of New York’s own Big Apple Circus.   For his directing debut with Big Apple Circus, he has gathered a creative team that includes Tony Award-winners Todd Rosenthal (sets) and Ann Hould-Ward (costumes), and choreographer Peter Pucci (“The Orphan’s Cycle”, Lucille Lortel Award for “Queens Boulevard”), as well as cabaret stalwarts JP Perreaux (sound design) and Michael Barbieri (lighting design).   The 33rd edition of Big Apple Circus will debut at Lincoln Center in October 2010.
