expenditure budget European airlines excess baggage – how much and how can I avoid spending $ 100s on luggage fees
0who lives in Europe, aware of the low-cost airlines, the center of their activities outside the United Kingdom but also in other countries. The prices are often very competitive, my wife recently flew Ryanair from Malaga, Spain, Bristol, England, for 18 € round trip, including taxes, for travel around 2,500 km. For this perspective, the tariff for the bus from where we live in the province of Granada in southern Spain, Malaga Airport € 25 in exchange for a round trip of 200 km. Bus tickets and Spanish are highly subsidized. P> He
no sense to ask how they make their reservation form on-line algorithms very discerning tastes and Ryanair are very successful companies. If you can be a cheap flight there is no cheap way to holiday or visit friends and relatives. If you do not become victims of their baggage policy. P>
visitors to Europe from the United States who use the UK as the beginning and end of their journey may not be aware of hidden baggage allowances cliff, even European travelers often squabble. P> To date in April 2010, these measures and baggage fees of four largest airlines cheap flights between Britain and Spain. P> Ryanair. 5 kg for hand baggage free. 15 kg hand luggage booked in advance £ 15 (£ 35 at the airport), second 15 kg of luggage in the hold baggage £ 35 booked in advance (£ 70 at airport) , £ 20/kg. P> monarch. 10 kg of luggage free. 20 kg hand luggage £ 9. 99-15 pounds. 99 (18 pounds at the airport), baggage 7 pounds. 50/kg (£ 9/kg the airport). P> Flybe. 10 kg of luggage free. 20 kg hand luggage £ 9. 99 (18 pounds at the airport), 20 kg extra £ 28. 00 (more than four hours must be reserved in advance), 12 kg bag for the first £ 3kg, £ 15/kg for the next 3 kg and £ 20/kg on it. P> Easyjet. No weight limit for hand luggage. 20 kg hand luggage £ 9. 00 (18 pounds at the airport), 3 kg more than £ 12, £ 33 6 kg, 9 kg 54 pounds, 75 pounds 12 kg by booking in advance or £ 10/kg at the airport. P> It is therefore clear that, in addition to paying for your flight, you very closely to the number of pieces of baggage weight you expect to pay to travel with. A little shopping on vacation too, and it could cost much more than we expected. P> It is not surprising, more and more decide to mail their luggage, rather than risk a huge bill at the airport. It not only stress-free trip, but it means that without the wait at the baggage carousel to get on the front of the car rental queue! P>
Airline becomes first to charge fees for overhead locker use
0But any item taken on board which is too big to be stored in this way during a flight would cost its owner up to US$45 to carry with them. The price is discounted by a third, to US$30, for anyone who checks in their carry-on baggage in advance, while members of Spirit Airlines’ Fare Club, who pay $9 for their membership, benefit from a further reduction, to $20. The new charges are due to come into effect from August 1 2010. Spirit already makes a charge for passengers’ checked-in baggage.
News of the introduction of the charges provoked wry comments from some of Spirit’s competitors, including one of its keenest rivals, which said on its blog that it would continue to offer its passengers one checked-in bag for free, and would not be charging for use of its overhead storage bins.
And in a further dig at Spirit, the airline concerned produced a spoof photograph of a shirt designed with extra airline bag-style pockets which it jokingly claimed would hold all the necessities for an entire trip, as well as all the money any of its passengers would save by not having to check in or carry on their bag.
Of course, there are easier ways of getting around unforeseen baggage charges. Using a service which separately checks in, transports and delivers excess baggage to a destination does away with any uncertainty over baggage allowances, whether for items carried in a plane’s hold or taken on board as hand luggage.
With many airlines offering differing baggage allowances it can also get very confusing over who allows what on board their planes, especially when booking tickets at short notice online or by telephone.
And when passengers are taking advantage of exceptionally low fares, it quite often leaves more in the budget to send items through a luggage forwarding service, which can then be collected separately on arrival.
So there is no need to leave it to chance when it comes to baggage allowances, and sending items through a safe and experienced excess baggage forwarder means users can relax knowing that they won’t face any nasty surprises at the airport.

What are the going fees for a communications consultant working for an NGO in Brussels?
1I’ve been asked to work on a consulting basis with an NGO in Brussels. Having only worked in the private sector, where I earn €100/hour, I don’t know how to structure my fees in this new setting. I’d like to be competitive, so any information about consulting fees and/or fee structures for consulting with NGOs in Brussels would be most appreciated. Thank you.
