Question: I am 63 yo female. Where can I get the cheapest medical/hospitalization insurance until I reach age 65?
I had to retire at age 62 due to endstage osteoarthritis in a knee. I couldn’t walk, but couldn’t have surgery because of the short term disability I had at work — the company I had through work didn’t pay what I had been given to understand it would pay when I signed up for it. I had to use up most of my savings with bills and deductibles for my hospital bills. I couldn’t work, had very little left in savings, so I had to sell my house and retire to another state where the housing was cheaper. Since I had HMO where I worked, I could not continue it when I retired to another state. Right now I pay $ 400 per mo. for hospitalization alone. Everything else (i.e. doctor visits, tests, medications, glasses, dental, etc.) I must pay out of pocket. Right now I must do without a lot of care because I simply can’t afford it on social security. However, I thought perhaps there are companies and plans I’m not familiar with that would work out better for me. Any suggestions?

Question: Need tips for a single female traveling “Round the World”?
Hi, I’m planning on traveling around the world next year and I
need to really start planning now. I’ve already contacted a travel agent (STA travel) and mapped out my ideal travel coordinates.
From California
9 Weeks through the west side of South America (Ecuador down to Argentina)
Volunteer 2-3 Weeks in Kenya
2 Weeks in Egypt
3 weeks in Greece
3 days Israel
5-7 days Jordan
Volunteer 2 Weeks Thailand
3-4 Weeks Vietnam
I’m doing this alone since none of my friends or family seems to want to. I’m a bit concerned since I’m a twenty-something female traveling alone so I just want to know what precautions I need. Should I be careful and tour some of the countries?
What budget should I save up?
I only have an Eagle Creek backpack for my whole trip and I’ve never really learned to pack light so what do I need to do to pack modestly? (sleeping bags needed?)
As you can see, I wanna learned EVERYTHING I can now.

Buy clothing that is light and airy and doesn’t really wrinkle. Try comfortable clothing, maybe jersey or linen. I don’t think that you will need a sleeping bag since your travel againt is probably going to be taking care of your sleeping arrangements. Most hostels and things have linens, So i wouldn’t worry about bringing that stuff. I would learn how to say police and help in each of the languages of the countries that you are going to be travelling to. Maybe get a multiband cell phone that will work anywhere in the world so that if you do run into trouble you can call the police in that area, also have the numbers of those countries American Embassy’s or consulates stored in the phone. I would probably save up a few thousand dollars, maybe 5 just incase anything were to happen. So if you need to book a flight out of somewhere in a hurry, you will have the money. I know personally that Greece is pretty expensive.
Be safe and always be aware of your surroundings. Always trust your gut, if something doesn’t feel right, get out of there.

Las Vegas Poker – From A Female Player’s Point Of View

As a female poker player and resident of Las Vegas, I am always interested in poker tournaments around town specifically for ladies. Â Donât get me wrong â I enjoy playing poker events with both genders, probably even more than exclusively female poker tournaments. But any woman who plays ladies events knows that there is a distinct increase in the âfunâ and âcamaraderieâ level; they have a bit more of a social feel to them. Â They may not be where I have made the most money playing, but I have met some of my best friends in Las Vegas through playing ladies poker events.
Most poker rooms in Las Vegas do not offer special ladies poker tournaments. Â Especially in this rough economic time, most poker rooms have already cut back their poker tournament schedules to bare bones compared to this time the past few years. Â If they do offer them, they are just not well advertised. Â So I have gotten used to visiting the LIPS Tour website (www. lipstour. com) to find the occasional event and participating in the WSOP Ladies Event each year.
I happened to stumble upon a website just the other day that surprisingly provided information for some ladies poker tournaments that, until now, I had no idea existed. Â The site is called Las Vegas Poker Source and, had I not visited, I would not know that Planet Hollywood has a ladies tournament every Tuesday night at 9pm. Â Fiesta Henderson has one every Monday at 5pm. Â Excalibur hosts one every Friday night at 8pm. Â And as I investigated the siteâs âPoker Tournamentâ tab, I continued to find all sorts of ladies events!
Not only does Las Vegas Poker Source provide this little-known information for me as a female player, but they have every Las Vegas daily poker tournament covered in great detail, including contact information and a write up for each unique poker room, the structures (blind levels, starting chips, etc), and more. Â I was also excited to see that they have a âPoker Trainingâ tab on the site. Â Iâve been considering getting a poker coach for awhile now, and there are several links to training with some of the top professionals out there, and even some you can do from the comfort of your own home by video.
If youâre complete a poker junkie like me, you can also follow Las Vegas Poker Source on your Twitter account (@LVPokerSource) and receive tweets about a half hour prior to a poker tournament starting. Â So now when Iâm bored or feeling the itch to go play, I always have some tournament options at my convenience.
This is a poker website I have added to my bookmarks tab as a favorite and I suggest you check it out as well. Â It fills a big void that I, as a poker playing resident of Las Vegas, have needed filled for some time. Â It looks like I will be playing a lot more besides just the World Series of Poker 2010 Ladies Event this year!
