Hardside luggage for trip to Asia?
0Question: Hardside luggage for trip to Asia?
I’m traveling to Asia for 14 days and can’t decide on luggage. I like the Samsonite hardside with spinners but the Macy’s salesperson said hardside can get punctured easily (weird) and that spinners don’t make the luggage very stable. She said I should consider TravelPro instead; but they don’t have spinners. Any one experienced either Samsonite’s hardside with spinners or TravelPro have a recommendation? If not Samsonite, what’s another good brand of luggage?

My parents in law visit the US from Japan, and always bring hardside luggage. They like it because it’s easy to push on wheels and feel that it keeps their items safe. But the suitcases are really heavy. We always have issues lifting the suitcases into the car, and they are always worried about exceeding weight limits.
We use soft sided rolling suitcases from Delsey. They are excellent quality and come in fun colors too. We’ve taken Delsey suitcases all over Asia and Europe. The only issue we had in ~ 10 trips was when someone’s suitcase with a fish sauce spilled on our suitcases, and it smelled yucky for a while. In that case, the hard side would have been better :)
You can get Delsey suitcases at Macy’s. If you happen to have a Marshall’s or TJ Maxx near you, they sometimes have Delsey suitcases at decent prices.
Happy travels!
