Hiking and Swingin’ in the Poconos
2
Back in July 2006, we went to the Poconos in PA to go whitewater rafting. We camped out at Hickory Run State Park. While there, we did a little hiking and came across a few small waterfalls and a stream with a rope swing. That was when we broke out our camera phones and had a little fun. However, in France for hiking some areas are better than others. P> One of the best areas in the Alps is on foot Maritime. It is the beautiful scenery and the hospitality of the good weather, good food and of course the delicious wine. All of these would there even be reason enough to visit, but if you get it all together as a package, it provides a nice break in a holiday will remember for a long time. P> One of the best places to stay in the charming village of Sospel. This is a popular spot for hikers, mountain bikers and people who just like the country, because it has everything you need. P> Sospel is located in the center of Bergen, and from there you can get more than one thousand kilometers walking, hiking and biking trials, most levels of the walkers is adapted to access hikers and bikers. The village itself has to be enough Sospel restaurants and bars for every taste and budget needs and to stay there a dozen or more houses, hotels and holiday homes. P> This is a relatively simple 2 1 / 2 to 3 January / 2 hour walk along part of the Bevera Valley and a small side valley to the south is. Walking is a mix of trails and paths through both wooded and more open spaces. P> We leave Villa Amiel-go probably the best Bed and Breakfast in Sospel and head east on the road in the Parc de Platanes, past the war memorial opposite the Co-operative building, which looks like an old warehouse. Going between him and the 1960 transformer building opposite, we follow up the small road that leads to more or less to the east, that will begin within a few hundred meters on the north side of the railway line towards La Source. P> There are some interesting buildings along the route a friendly sheep occasionally and only the odd car – but you will soon be the most signs of civilization left behind you. P> Continue along for about half a mile, then we take a road that bears to the right and is signposted complex to a kennel, here you turn right. Follow the road as it bears right and crosses the line. Five minutes after crossing the line we arrive at a “crossroads” area, where three threads converge, and our route takes us straight down in front of the UN-made track. P> completely after passing the main gates with a lot of dogs barking, leaves the track for about half a mile and ends at some big goals. We left the track and lift the foot up on the right and continue on a tree-lined path at the time head south. Continue along the path you will find that it slightly increase, as we Bevera Valley and leave one side of the valley, which starts us on the Suez De Vallone. P> After the rather obvious way, we soon pass a large stone. . . or two! And some 20 to 25 minutes from leaving the track – on an old and rather quaint cottages. Looking through the trees at this point we get some wonderful views down the valley Bevera. Leaving behind the hut, the path bears right slowly, as it down towards the river bed, which are at the time of the year, the drop per walkcan filled with water or empty! P> There are large boulders
in the river bed, so that even when the river is quite full, it is-like so many of the small waterways in the region – easily crossable with care. However, this is a good place to sit and take a break or a picnic – just as we have enjoyed a good half hour break for lunch with good food, drink and chat entertaining. P> After a good rest, we join a path on the other side of the river that goes in both directions, up and down the mountain. We decide to up the hill as if it adds an additional 40 minutes of this pleasant walk – the view from the ruins near the top are magnificent. Having had P> we fill our views on the turn after the road passed back down and is the point of entry into the river, the path angle and we noticed some unusual moss covered rocks, which seemed even in the driest weather after the stay on moist about 400m we follow the path that leads up the slope on the right. and in the top left and bear vague on the track heading north. P> hold the title, we take a left where the farm entrance of the IT and occurs soon after proper notice expires on the footpath on the left side, but we remain on track following a route and above what has some nice views of the valley towards Sospel. P> After spending about 20 minutes – not counting the time we take pictures – we found ourselves walking slowly along and above the south side of the line back down towards the valley floor. After the track, as it is a right-angled curve we crossedthe line, then turn west was another small road leads us back towards La Source, get away a small rural estate of the houses along the river Sospel. P> starts just before this little village, we turned up the hill, the route still vague heading west on the left – this time – below and north of the railway line. About half an hour after the railroad crossing, we had to recognize the first part of the trail we walked a couple of hours earlier, when we got back in the direction of the cooperative storage and Sospel head. P> From here it will be handed over only a short walk through the parking lot and the monument. welcomed by the very drink waiting for us when we are welcomed back to get into Villa Amiel. This is not the hardest walk we have always done, but it was certainly encouraging and we look forward to many more like it. You can use photos and maps for this walk on the see www. villaamiel. com a> website p>

Do you have to book shore excursions to do things like hiking on an Alaskan Cruise?
4I’m going on an Alaskan Cruise for my honeymoon and I’m noticing that all the excursions are very expensive. My fiance and I are hoping to do one big excursion (like a helicopter ride or something). Both of us love hiking and would really like to do some hiking while we’re there but don’t want to pay a ridiculous price to follow someone around on a hiking trail. Are there options for us to just go hiking without a guided tour?
