What is the lowest price I can get on the flight from San Francisco, CA to San Jose, Costa Rico?

Question: What is the lowest price I can get on the flight from San Francisco, CA to San Jose, Costa Rico?
Looking up online I found $ 444 now, but kayak.com also shows that it was $ 408 few days ago.

I also see that few agencies sell vacation packages, including air and 4 night hotel from SF to Costa Rica, for $ 499. This mans that air price should be much less than $ 400.

So what is the lowest price I can expect and how to get it?

I just checked for instance early February (departure on Feb. 2, return on Feb. 9) and I got a return ticket San Francisco – San Jose at US$ 278 , incl charges and taxes at Travelocity.

If you are willing to drive to Buffalo, NY and fly from there, you may save money, and in that case also check Southwest.com

You may also consider arriving in Oakland, CA or San Francisco, CA, since they are very close to San Jose, if you can find considerably cheaper flights to those places.

Getting to San Diego from San Jose?

I’m planning to visit a friend down in San Diego, and I was wondering what would be the best way to go about doing that without a car.

So far, here’s a list of options that I’ve already researched. All of the below quotes take into account the round trip. Keep in mind that my departure date is set for May 12th, 2010.

Air Travel – $141 (http://www. tripadvisor. com/CheapFlights?geo=60750&travelers=1&cos=0&nonstop=no&airport0=SJC&nearby0=no&airport1=SAN&nearby1=no&date0=20100513&time0=anytime&date1=20100518&time1=anytime)

Amtrak – $104

Greyhound – $116

-and that’s it.

My friend used to tell me he took a some sort of “superbus” (i don’t know the name anymore) that got him there for less than $50 for the whole trip. If anyone knows any details about this. . . superbus (lol) I’d love to know more about it, or if there was a cheaper, more efficient means of travel, I would be very grateful.
