The Marine Mammal Center is celebrating his 14th Annual Conference Gala and Live Auction with a tribute to the former president of Merrill L. Magowan Thursday 14 October at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The gala starts at 18.00 clock and will be a cocktail reception, formal dinner, music, an auction with many one-of-a-kind items are bid on and take a look at Mr. Magowan? s significant achievements on behalf of the Centre. The Gala is the Centera? S biggest fundraising event of the year, and the proceeds will be used urgently needed funds for food and medical care, and many other consumables to run hospitals, animal care, support research and education center. During his time as President, Mr. Magowan improves the Centera? the ability of a campaign fund-raising dollars for the reconstruction of the entire office in Sausalito. He directed the Centre to 90% of funds from sources that had never won before in the organization to collect, and in many cases by the Marine Mammal Center is, until he made the presentations. In all, he raised millions of dollars for a fundraiser? something that would have taken much longer to reach the center if it had not been for his persistence, his relationships and his passion for the Centera? to work. Mr. Magowan is the president of the Investment Committee in San Francisco Sentry Investment Group and an investment portfolio manager. His grandfather, Charles Edward Merrill, was the founder of Merrill Lynch and his brother, Peter, is the partner of the former CEO of the San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball franchise. Merrill L. Magowan on 21 non-profit boards including the San Francisco Zoo, Safeway Stores serves and is currently Chairman of the Tropical Botanical Garden. He joined the Marine Mammal Center? Directors of the Company in 2003 and became its president in 2006.

year?? s Gala occurs during an exciting time for the center, with several new initiatives underway, including construction of additional pool of patients in his hospital Sausalito-based installation and a Hawaiian monk seal in Kona, Hawaii. There are only 1,100 people have left these threatened species and must do everything possible to preserve them before they disappear. In addition, the center is a public education campaign called Stop trashing our oceans to inspire the public to reduce the amount of waste having a negative impact sea mammals every year.
