I shall be staying @ the Grand Luxxe in Nuevo vallarta and then going toRancho Banderas Vacation Villas in Punta Mita. I don’t know if I should rent a car or go by taxi

It’s about a 20 minute drive … not sure how unsafe that could be. It’s usually suggested not to drive at night for even short trips unless you know your way around

I don’t recall any such places in Punta de Mita. You might have to go to La Cruz…short name for the village north of Bucerias.
If you’re trying to go to one of those places that will certify you for SCUBA, my advice is to forget it. Get Certified here in the states.
Down there, they quickly run through things and give you a certification. After that, they’ll sell you on a scuba trip someplace. And, basically you’re on your own. Many times, nothing happens. But a lot of times, folks that do this do not come back to the states alive.
Unfortunate, but true.

my husband, service dog, and i are visiting PV for the first time and plan of staying at Four Seasons, Punta Mita.

any advice please on how far away are the areas’ local attractions/landmarks? any thoughts about the hotel itself? is it true that it’s overrun by children? should i rent a car?

Four seasons is really far from Vallarta, at least one hour drive from the Malecon. You should rent a car so you can explore around. There are other very nice beaches in the area. Depending on what you are into. You should visit a store called “No name boutique” they have really nice women’s bathing suits, bags, clothing, also mens, and the only store in PV area that does not see fake Cuban cigars. I got my girl friend very nice jewelery there. They also have 4 stores.

well i recently went to puerto vallarta, which is near punta mita and there wasnt anything like that on the beach.i will the water is a bit chili.
