Yes it is very possible, infact its the best option if you are on budget but also you must know your way around. The best way to do this is to book the lodge / Camp for the time you intend to stay at the Mara. Since you are coming from Mombasa the best option is to get charter flight from Mombasa to Mara. Then while at the Mara book your own game drives, hot – air balloon and other exciting activities.
