Im writing a book? opinions please?
2Question: Im writing a book? opinions please?
the book i am writing is about:
Anna Nelson has long blonde hair, crystal blue eyes and a smile that can light up the darkest room. She has a good sense of humor, good grades and always seems to know what to say. Anna seems to be good at everything. Her mother is a lawyer, her father is a doctor and she’s an only child. Anna is responsible and has her priorities in order.
Brooke King has long deep red locks, icy blue eyes and fair skin. She, too, is a beauty. Brooke seems to care too much about the surface. Her popularity, her clothes, her hair, her looks…but sometimes you can catch the deep side of her. Brooke has lived with her foster mother since she was a baby. They are very close and she too, is an only child. Her grades are always meticulous, but she does her best to keep them average.
Jade Collins is milano with black wavy hair and emerald green eyes. Jade is constantly on a coffee high. She’s very nice, loves to talk and is very sociable. Her best quality is her people person skills. She has an African American mother and a Caucasian father. Her parents spoil her rotten and are madly in love; unlike most kids’ parents these days. She has an older brother who’s in college and living at home.
Bridget Price has thick brown straight hair, chocolate brown eyes and freckles lightly scattered across her nose. Bridget is plenty outgoing when she’s with her friends but she gets very shy around other people. She’s a middle child; she has a younger sister and an older sister. She feels so average and plain. She has to learn that she’s not average at all; she’s one of a kind.
The four girls live in Seattle, Washington where everyone has money coming out of their rear ends. The houses are large, the people are rich and beautiful. They have been best friends since second grade when they were all put into Mrs. Mullin’s class. They just graduated their private junior high school and are now moving into their freshman year of the real thing. They are very pretty and very popular.
Anna, who has always appeared so perfect, even to her best friends, happens to have a dirty little secret. Her father had an affair. Her parents are getting a divorce. Anna doesn’t know what to do. Her father is leaving, her mother is having a melt down and she’s trying to keep the secret safe.
Meanwhile, Anna is sensing a strange hostility towards her from Brooke lately. They all know that Brooke has always been jealous of her but it seems to be getting out of control. Jade senses that something is wrong with Anna and won’t let it go. Anna notices that Bridget has her eye on a guy, which is a big thing for her. She’s never had a boyfriend. Anna wants to help Bridget come out of her shell.
Their lives may seem perfect from a distance, but up close you see that its not everything it’s cracked up to be.
and this is what i have so far:
Chapter One
I set down my brush and took a look in my vanity mirror in my personal bathroom. My golden blonde naturally pin-straight hair fell a little past my shoulders. My crystal blue eyes popped with black eyeliner and mascara. Perfect. My outfit consisted of a pair of tight dark wash skinny jeans, a white sweetheart neck camisole and bright yellow sandals. Perfect.
I thought about my three best friends. Shy Bridget would be freaking out right now. Jade would be doing the opposite. She would be gulping down cups of coffee and jumping around with excitement. And Brooke would have been up at the crack of dawn to get ready for our first day of our junior year of high school. I grabbed my big yellow Paul Roberts bag off my bed and headed down the white plush stairs.
My father was sitting at the island in our kitchen, eating breakfast and reading the news on his laptop. I pulled out a barstool next to my dad and threw my purse on the granite countertop. “Good morning,” he said.
“Morning. Where’s mom?”
“Upstairs getting ready for work.”
Our housekeeper, Tasha, set a plate of pancakes down in front of me. “Thanks, Tasha,” I said.
“You’re welcome, Anna.”
“So, are you nervous?” My father asked.
“Not really,” I said. “What’s there to be nervous about?”
My dad smiled. “Good attitude.”
“Mhmm hmm,” I mumbled with my mouth full of pancakes.
My father was a doctor and my mother was a lawyer. They were high school sweethearts and continued dating off and on all through college. When they finished college they were in the “on” and they moved in together. They got married after a year and had me. Then they moved to our big house in Seattle, Washington. I’ve lived in this house my entire life. Dorothy was right. There’s no place like home.
My father finished his breakfast and grabbed his brief case. “Well, have a good first day,” he said, kissing me on the cheek.
“Kay, see you later.”
My mother came flouncing down the stairs just as I heard my father’s car start. “Hey sweetie.” My mother and I looked so much alike it was like lo

Opinions of mothers/teens…?
6Question: Opinions of mothers/teens…?
My friend and I are planning to go on a volunteer trip to India in the summer of 2010. Her parents are OK with it–they think if its what she really wants to do, then she should be able to do it. My parents on the other hand, are not so sure if they should allow me to go. Here are some details:
1.) I’ll be 17, my friend will be 16(almost 17)
2.) It is a medical studies opportunity
3.) It is 2 weeks long (we may end up going for 3 weeks)
4.) We fly from Toronto (about 2 hours from our city) and an escort comes along on the flight
5.) It includes accommodations, food, accommidations, insurance, travel etc.–> it will be around 2500 (price is not a huge issue, as a lot of the money will be money my friend and I have been saving from working)
I do understand why my parents would be a little hesitant when making the decision. I think that it would be a great way for me to gain global awarness, have something special on my high school transcript, and learn a little bit about medicine. I was simply wondering what the opinions of mothers (and fathers) and teens are. What would you do if you were my parents(or me)? Why?
The trip is organized by a reputable organization known as Projects Abroad.
Good answers so far:) Thanks.
To answer your question–My parents are hesitant to let me go because there’s kind of a risk involved. India can be dangerous–not only crime-wise, but I could also get sick. And finally, my mom is very protective of me(which I do usually understand.)

I would let you go if you are a mature/responsible 17 yr old, which it seems you are since this is how you want to spend your free time and you’re saving up your own money. I think it would be an amazing and educational experience for anyone.
Any opinions on Park City Mountain Resort in Utah?
6Question: Any opinions on Park City Mountain Resort in Utah?
I have been offered a job there and am considering moving there. How are the skiing/snowboarding conditions? What’s the atmosphere like of the city and the resort?

It’s absolutely beautiful! Awesome skiing and snowboarding conditions, in fact a few Olympic contenders have come from there. Then there’s always the Sundance film festival. It’s such a quaint little town, away from the big city, but close enough it’s not a long drive. Many people have vacations homes there, so that must tell you something. Be warned though, it’s not the cheapest place to live because it’s such a desirable destination.
Can you give me opinions of Norwegian Cruise Line Pride of Hawaii cruise?
4I’m from Scotland and my friend and I want to go to Hawaii next year. We have to decide whether this is the right cruise for us. Has anyone been on this ship and could give us an idea when the money is worth. We have to have some real opinions on how to book over the phone and I hate it with these situations without realistic information, may I hear and read or do have. Thank you.
