Which countries are accepting of black Americans? I dont want to go to one expecting a nice vacation & face open racism in every city and/or be robbed becaues they assume I’m a rich American. I know some US cities have open racism. But I know where they are & avoid them.
I want to visit other countries to learn how people live & see different parts of this planet. I’m not the type of black woman depicted in the media or a rude, spoiled American. So, I don’t want to be treated that way without being given a chance to disprove the bad stereotypes about blacks. I’ve heard that some areas of the world only know about black women through the media and view them as sex objects to the extent that they will touch a black woman inappropriately if they meet one. Or are afraid a black person will shoot or rob them.
Comments that insult me or do not inform me about what I asked will be reported. I’d prefer answers from anyone who has been to or lives in a city outside the US.Thanks! :)

most travel worthy countries are safe….in my opinion they might be less racist then parts of the US. if ou go to the US travel advisory webite u can find warnings about certain countries. also try lonely planet travel books, the font of he books have sections about safety for women, african americans, gays,handicapped etc.

I would recomend thiland but not sure what u r looking for…have fun

about south africa……it is very beautiful, has some of the best beaches in the world, and for the most part the people are nice…..although the country is very diverse racially , cape town can be a bit raceist because it is primarily white dutch settlers, they will stare and be rude or may avoid you its probably not dangerous, more uncomfortable. jo’berg is the opposite and it is recomended to travel with a guide.dont let that stop u though, its one of my favorite places.

to travel outside of Michigan, but no more than a 6 hour drive. I would like to go sometime next week for a couple days. Any suggestions? The trip is for two. I plan to vacation with my 14-year-old daughter.
She still likes amusement parks and she is still a true kid at heart! However, I don’t know how much longer I will have this sweet little kid, she is entering high school in the fall.

Question: Our Medicare prescription drug coverage in Michigan has the limitation that our living outside the country?
for several months at a time disqualifies us for our benefit. Our doctors out of the country, where we live sent copies of thier prescriptions to our U.S. doctor, but she won’t make her prescription based on this. How can we find a doctor who will talk, on the phone to our overseas doctors and accept thier word, as fellow professionals that we need these medicines. Otherwise we will have to continue paying exorbitant prices here when we could be getting these medicines free under this Medicare program.
We cannot afford to fly to the U.S just to see a doctor and get his prescription! Thanks for your help and advice.
We are not vacationing, we live in another country several months out of the year, our home is there. We only live with our daughter in Michigan for a few months at a time when we can afford to make the trip.
Please note that I am a loyal American who has served my country. We are over 70 years of age and cannot afford to visit and live with our daughter in Michigan and be a burden to her.My wife is from another country and we made our home and family here more than 40 years ago. Unfortunately, this Medicare prescription drug plan doesn’t take this into consideration

if you can afford to vacation outside the cournty for several months then you sould be able to afford paying for your meds :D

it is very unlikely you will find a doc that will do this for you b/c they are then liable if something is wrong with the rx

We are planning a weekend trip to NYC and I see that there is a huge price difference in staying in the city and out of the city (duh!). Do any of the hotels near the airports offer a free shuttle into the city or do we have to take a cab? I need recommendations on where to stay. We may be coming up via Amtrack, but we haven’t decided yet.
