Question: Do cruise lines partner with small businesses on the island/destination for activities guests can do on island?
OK, I’m wondering if cruise lines (or hotels on the island) actually partner with various small businesses (like diving, jet skiing, snorkling…) so guests can book directly from the cruise ship and go there when they get on the island. I was thinking they do, and in exchange, the businesses give some kind of share of profit (like 15%). Is this true? just curious

Yes. I’m not sure about the profit (though the small businesses must make SOME profit) but they definitely have connections to one another. You can book excursions on ports directly from the cruise ship. Some islands and excursions, however, and owned directly by the cruise line (i. e. Disney Cruise’s Castaway Cay).
