Question: Relative to other US airline carriers, what is Continental Airlines considered in terms of services and fare?
I am not very familiar with the airline industry. I am trying to map out the services and fares compared to the industry as a whole. Just looking at the major competitors here: Delta, Continental, Delta, American, US Airways, JetBlue, and Southwest. Any objective information, relative to the listed would be great.

Continental is tranditionally pared up for Biz travel so compared to other airlines Continental is high quality. The fares all depend on what region and the time of year they are competing for their customers. But typically and personally I would pay a little more just to fly Continental vs Delta or US air anyday. . <-- well it also depends on the aircraft but in most cases I stand with my statement.

I was told that if you are a US citizen or Canadian, you do not need any visa casue you are under the umberlla of Princess cruise line, other than that you need to check with your counsulate. He did and did not get any clear answer, does anyone know? Or is there any Australian friend took the Princess cruise and its St. Pertersburg excursion?

Yes he does.
Everybody does, EXCEPT when the passengers go on the shore excursions, in that case, Princess takes care of it.
I think only Serbians do not need a visa for Russia.
I stoped there often with ships and we didn’t need one, if we had a Seaman’s book, which is sort of an ID for crew members. Even the crewmembers who did not have one could not leave the ship.
For the excursions it’s ok, you don’t need one.
enjoy.

A few have “bereavement” fares– but normally this is for travel as a result of a death in your immediate family.. In some limited cases the airline may allow for travel to see a family member that is in a (documented) imminent death condition, but each airline sets their own rules on this matter and not all airlines even offer such fares…. Unless the sickness is of a very grave nature, I don’t think that you’ll find an airline that offers reduced fares for “illness”..
