Yes he does.
Everybody does, EXCEPT when the passengers go on the shore excursions, in that case, Princess takes care of it.
I think only Serbians do not need a visa for Russia.
I stoped there often with ships and we didn’t need one, if we had a Seaman’s book, which is sort of an ID for crew members. Even the crewmembers who did not have one could not leave the ship.
For the excursions it’s ok, you don’t need one.
enjoy.

Matryoshka Dolls, Russian Princesses and onion-domed cathedrals – an unexpected Alaska
0Most cruise passengers and tourists expect
Alaska whales and glaciers, bears and mushing dogs, and national parks and historic towns to see gold rush saloons and houses of ill repute – but few are prepared for the rich evidence of Russian history.
In fact only very few are aware of that fact for a period of time, a large enough piece of history, Russia controlled Alaska.
The Russian occupation of Alaska began in the mid 1700s, started when Russian explorers like Vitus Bering, to extend the field, and when fur traders began to settle in places like Iliuliuk on Unalaska.
offers today Unalaska on the Aleutian island chain lies visitors an insight into what happened with the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Assumption of mind. Built in 1825, with red roofs, green onion domes and a small cemetery was declared a historical monument, the Church in 1970 and was last restored in 1998. It now houses one of the largest collections of religious artifacts and icons in the United States.
As the fur trade has increased and more Russians ventured into the region, the first permanent Russian Alaska was in 1784 by Gregory and his company Shelikoff fur on the island of Kodiak established, rule, eight years later site of today’s Kodiak was moved.
Kodiak still much of its Russian flavor, complete, even with the street name in Russia. save
The Baranov Museum, a warehouse in the 1790s by Alexander Baranov built furs, is the oldest remaining Russian structure of the state and houses a fine selection of artifacts from the time of Kodiak as a Russian colony.
Other attractions in the theme of Russia: the beautiful Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church, founded in 1794 is now a saint, complete with icons and links to St. Herman, the first priest in the United States. There is also the Veniaminov Research Institute Museum, bibles and icons of Orthodox missionaries in the
used presents an annual event at Monks Lagoon Kodiak 1800 celebrates the canonization of Father Herman Herman and the Holy Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kodiak is named after him.
In 1799, the Russian fur trade is booming in Russia, founded by Alexander Baranov, the new head of the company’s late Gregory Shelikoff, a new colony of New Archangel, which was the capital of Russian America. It was later developed into the present city of Sitka.
Sitka is located on the coast of today’s aptly named Baranof Iceland was.
pride of the city is the Cathedral of St. Michael, a bright blue onion dome Russian Orthodox Church, which dominates the skyline of Sitka. Although the original cathedral was built in 1844 by a fire in 1966 the rebuilt church where a church to worship the living continues, many features of icons and relics, which were destroyed in the fire again.
The Russian Bishop’s House, part of the Sitka National Historical Park, is the oldest building in Russia in Sitka. Built in 1842 for Veniaminov Bishop Ivan, now St. Innocent Orthodox Church, the buildings have been restored to reflect his time as a school, a chapel and residence.
The 107 acre Sitka National Historic Park interprets the site of the battle between the Russians and the Tlingit in 1804. Battles between indigenous peoples and the Russians were disastrous for Alaska Natives, as well as diseases of foreign origin as white explorers came to Earth.
One of the most romantic sights is the Protestant Cemetery, where visitors can find the grave of Maksoutoff Russian princess, the wife of the governor of Alaska last Russian Dimitrij Maksoutoff.
complete the picture, leading New Archangel Dancers Sitka his own authentic Russian dances for visitors to the city – usually when cruise ships
But coming rule of the Russians was in Alaska to an end .. In the early 1800s, Americans began over a portion of the fur trade, which had been prepared by the Russians to take, and it was only a matter of time before, in 1867, U.S. Secretary of State William Seward H offered Russia, 200,000 or two cents per acre for Alaska.
Americans called the purchase “Seward’s Folly” and considered it a waste of money. But it was not long before gold was discovered, causing some prospector stampedes north.
Alaska was a territory in 1912 and finally a state in 1959 and the Russian occupation of Alaska has become a distant memory – but for those who see the usual attractions of a trip to Alaska, evidence for the time and pride still lives.

Russian River canoe trip ideal for families
0People of all ages can enjoy a gentle canoe trip on the Russian River, one of the most beautiful waters in California.
Russia runs through the famous wine country destinations such as Healdsburg and Geyserville, before his exit to the sea through gentle hills covered with dense forests and redwood makes teaming with rare birds and other wildlife. Almost a 10 mile stretch of the river to Forestville Guerneville is ideal for quiet water canoeing or kayaking and a local company called Burke’s Canoe trips make it even easier by bringing canoes, kayaks and shuttle service back to your car near Forestville .
The Russian River, in this case is not exactly the “Rushin ‘River. If you look quickly for many water and rapids of the river, there are other rivers in California that fill the bill . but not this in fact water is so docile, it’s really not all that good for the air because in some areas you can keep enough forward motion to paddle without a lot of this, canoes and kayaks – are. Not ideal
, you do not get a few chills – which seem to slide over the water with little effort .. How do people Burkes canoes told us there is just enough water quickly to interesting things. There are some points in the river where the current channels enter into branches along the coast there can, or your canoe back into a whirlpool, if you do not want your guide canoe on the right. But the good news is that even if return relatively warm water, /> is not very deep and they are moved to a quiet zone in the letter a few seconds.
We have a canoe on our trip down the river and were asked to all of our cameras or everything that could be water in a plastic bag damaged safely keep water. We had also been said, our bathing suits, and were required to wear life jackets easily. In view of the calm waters near the launch area, seemed it’s almost ridiculous to have concerns about the return and we wondered why there is so much value on preparing to get wet.
We a cooler full of drinks and Sanwiches in our boat and started slowly on the way . canoes are inherently unstable – at least if you do not use them for a while -. and it took us a few minutes to become familiar with our balance sheet and some confidence to maneuver, we could right But alas, our Boy Scout training soon in very good , even if they occurred for decades – and probably a gain of 20 percent by weight -. since we had the last pallet Start
In about two minutes we faced our first challenge – avoiding a fairly fast flowing river while the wooded right shore. We searched our boat on the left bank, paddled quickly and managed to coordinate our front and rear paddles just enough to avoid danger. It was not a perfect approach, but it was a confidence builder. We look on our honing paddling skills as we face new challenges in the river downstream.
Soon we were on a stretch of calm water, hardly move, but only a soft palette continues to progress well ahead. This is to take when we really started in the natural beauty of the river -. carried out the dense forests of giant trees and the continuous ballet of the birds and the Russian River large as the blue heron and osprey En route, we would turtles and deer as well as to see. We also liked the pool charming cottage, which sits across the river in many strategic points along the route of the Russian Federation. Spectacular bridges span the river at various points, although most of this float was removed from the highway, so it . even further away than it actually is
We spent the next four hours or so alternating negotiations some of the stronger currents – or what we call could be a very slow speed – nice and quiet paddling in one day Spring . blue sky We were only a few minutes to eat a sandwich on a spectacular sandy beach – although we are told most people linger at these beaches for swimming, spend time sunbathing and just with their traveling companions for hours
<.. go to br /> After mastering perhaps a dozen current bottlenecks and faster with less than a few hundred yards when we arrived, we felt very confident that we regained the canoeing prowess of our youth And then the unthinkable happened: we reversed. We failed in the shallow water and just remember that you can not solve a canoe by shifting your weight. Yes, we have a little wet, but we were not really cold on this beautiful sunny day and we could retrieve our things in a short time.
Our pride was hurt. But we have better later, when Burke’s Canoe people told us that over half of their customers to feel at a given time flip along this route, which seems calm, idyllic river.
