I honestly have zero experience with tegus. I can say however that some Savs are nice and some are mean. Some Savs appear to be the sweetest things…..usually it’s entirely luck of the draw and/or valiant attempts at “taming”. Imprinting docileness is easier with “newborns” than adults. I don’t recommend Savs unless you have a lot of experience in reptiles and are really comitted toward owning one at keeping it at optimal health (should be the goal of any pet really….but monitors especially).
Ackies, however are amost always really “tame”. Ackies are definately my # 1 recommendation to 1st time monitor owners. Their price tag may initailly be larger, but it’s worth it…….you get what you pay for.
I’ll star this question and VARANID will undoubtedly come and save the day.
B&W Tegus and Savannah Monitors?
1Question: B&W Tegus and Savannah Monitors?
I would like to buy a B&W Tegu or a Savannah Monitor, does anyone know where I can get one? I have experience with both of these animals. I adopted both and they eventually died of old age.

Two beardies and a uro do not prepare you for a sav. Do more research on the tegu and check out ackies if you really want a monitor.
EDIT: A little more detail than what I put in my original answer. I will reiterate that you should avoid the sav and think about the tegu or ackies.
An ig, though also not a beginner reptile, is nothing like a savannah monitor, disposition, diet and husbandry are all different, though both large lizards a sav will do much more damage than an ig. Igs lean towards “flight” when the “fight or flight” kicks in, whereas savs are bloodthirsty little monsters and will fight; basically an ig will damage you trying to escape while a sav will rip and tear into you so that you will leave it be. Ornery savs will rip and tear (and poop! these guys will defecate all over you as a defense mechanism!!) everytime you get near, no matter the reason, and sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw that you get a nasty-tempered sav and nothing you do will change that. You state that you used to have an iguana, out of curiosity what happened to it? They live two decades with good care.
I looked through your question history and discovered that you’ve only had your uro about two months. Watching a friend’s monitor does not prepare you for monitor ownership. These guys are a definite challenge. Large lizards are a unique challenge, and one that I undertake on a daily basis with my own collection and my foster animals. Continue to do your research, but with a word of warning ~ most monitor care you find online is garbage. Those videos on YouTube of “tame” savs are misleading. Monitors grow quickly and that cute little beast you buy at the pet store all too quickly turns into a complete monster requiring daily food, a huge enclosure and can be a pure bloody pain. Start with ackies or the tegu.
I need to find a good R and B club in Savannah for tonight, and I need something to do Sunday daytime?
0Question: I need to find a good R and B club in Savannah for tonight, and I need something to do Sunday daytime?
I need some good suggestions for entertainment. I’m looking to have a good time this weekend in Savannah with my boyfriend. I was told about this drag queen show with Lady Chabliss at Club One for $ 25.00 and $ 35.00, but that sounds like a bit much to watch some unattractive drag queen. I know it is late notice, but can anyone help?

Check out the Forsythe Inn, right by (where else) Forsythe Square. You can see each of the rooms on their website. I’m not a huge fan of B&Bs — but I did enjoy staying there. Breakfast, served on the verandah was delicious, particularly the stuffed french toast. There was also complimentary wine late afternoon and cookies and tea later in the evening.

Approximate half way point would be Fayetteville, NC. Go to http://www.hotwire.com/ Click on hotels, then put in Fayetteville, NC and the date and bingo – you will find some great deals on Hotel Rooms!
I just checked it and found some really good rates: $ 50 per night for a LaQuinta. That’s a decent hotel and a great rate.
Good luck and drive safely!

Georgia Savannah – the Most Haunted City in America
0In 2003, renamed the American Institute of Paranormal Psychology Savannah America’s Most Haunted City. And Savannah is able to support the title. Ghosts, apparitions and paranormal activity have been reported in many hostels Savannah, restaurants, private homes, and of course, cemeteries.
There are many beautifully restored buildings around Savannah located 21 square meters. Many of these buildings are supposedly houses still inhabited by the former owners. James Habersham was known that around the Olde Pink House, now walk a restaurant, but once his house. Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts was born and raised in Savannah. His parents, long deceased, is to say, still roam the childhood home of Juliette. Savannah Sorrel-Weed House visit, from the Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) in 2005 as part of the SciFi Ghost Hunters Halloween Special, to be followed. The story goes that Mrs. Weed caught her husband in a compromising position with one of the thousands of slaves against weeds. Ms. Weed, very excited, ran to his room on the second floor. After a long discussion with her husband, she threw herself (or was thrown) until his death from a balcony on the second floor. Shortly after the death of woman against weeds, the slaves were held with Mr. Weed was found hanged in his slave quarters. The two women are still roaming the field. The Hampton-Lillibridge House was said to be afflicted, that Jim Williams had carried out (from “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” fame) in an exorcism of the former board. On several occasions, local residents and passers-by heard the sound of jazz coming from inside the house. <> The Kehoe were a prominent family in Savannah, as Mr. Kehoe has the steel mill on the River. The Kehoe built the fireproof home all the iron and lived there with their 10 children. The heirs of the Kehoe sold the house in 1930 and the property changed hands several times to use for 65 years to take Goette funeral home. He is now a beautiful bed and breakfast, where many visitors scream report on natural events such as a wife, a nurse cover up visitors, the lady in white make appearances, and several cases in which the spirits of the children. The list goes on and on!As the colony began to grow and prosper, we need more space. Buildings were erected on the graves of the original settlers. Grave stones in the cemeteries have been moved to make way for sidewalks and streets. Places of worship was erected on the graves of slaves.
Secondly, Savannah is a very violent history. Many bloody battles and skirmishes took place in Savannah. One of the bloodiest battles of the American Revolution, the siege of Savannah, where about 1,200 people were killed in an hour, was fought in Savannah.Third, Savannah was an important port since the days of King Cotton, as a sailor on Savannah ventured spin a romantic tale or two.
Fourth Savannahians are (proudly) an eccentric group, like their predecessors, the volume increases the history and ghost stories. TakeFinally, I blame is the large quantities of Spanish moss from the majestic oak trees. The foam covers look like ghostly shrouds and give the region an odd look.
In any case, the ghost stories are endless, winning the Savannah right under America’s Most Haunted City.Savannah b & b
