Question: How do I get Hotel Reservations for Schengen Visa Application?
Apparently I need hotel reservations for Schengen visa application…do I just call them to fax it over or can I get them e-mail it to me? And how long does it take? Who actually sends them to me, the hotel itself or an admin of the hotel? If so would they do it on the weekends?

The hotel should be able to confirm the booking via Email.
The printout of the email will suffice for the visa requirement.
If you made a reservation fee, get the proof for that too.
Hotels do not close over the weekends or on holidays, so you should get it immediately. And finally this is done by the Administration staff of the hotel.

Question: What did you do about Schengen visa insurance?
I was denied by the german consulate the other day because my insurance letter included the line “Benefit info is not a guarantee of payment”, which my insurer told me was standard… has this kind of thing happened to anyone before … this was a major co. Aetna medical… Thereafter, I had to google and buy travel insurance from one Atlas International… they have given me a letter as well… this letter says “other limitations and exclusions apply”. But it seems like this travel insurance co. is pretty assured about the validity of this letter for schengen visas , bec it is explicitly advertised as such. My question is, HAS ANYONE USED AN ATLAS INTERNATIONAL VISA LETTER TO GET A SCHENGEN VISA BEFORE?

I can’t say for sure, but the Insurance industry, has closed ranks,
yes its getting expensive for travel Insurance. Does your Ins. company have a office in this country ? This could be very helpful, reason being the Hospitals
don’t want to be stuck with huge bills from foreigners. Most embassies will except policies that have good coverage. I had NO trouble all over Europe
& Russia. I used AIG’s subsidiaries. Be careful on the starting date, ask
for your start date coverage, at departure. Not at your purchase date.

can anyone suggest good multicountry escorted tour packages suitable for schengen visa holders from US? we are not citizens. so we cannot take usual panoramic tours offered by many travel agencies. Also we do not want to go to multiple embassies for visa. Thank you.

I don’t quite understand this… Schengen Visas are for EU citizens… and U.S. citizens can’t get them.. so when you say you “are not citizens” do you mean US citizens or EU citizens?
Schengen visas ARE FOR EU CITIZENS ONLY.. Amerikans can’t get them.

Question: Medical insurance for Schengen visa through French Consulate?
Has anyone recently applied for a schengen visa through the French consulate in New York City? I am having difficulty obtaining a letter with the specific wording that they need..this is from their website:
Health Insurance Certificate (+ 1 copy) : a letter from your Insurance company stating that you will be covered, for at least 37,000 $ , during your trip in Europe for any medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation will be required. (The letter must include, exact wording, these three conditions of coverage.)
Where did you get international medical insurance and was the consulate really strict with the letter they need?

I am traveling to France soon and the Sheghen visa requires me to produce the follow: “A letter from your insurance company (+ 1 copy) stating that you will be covered for any medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation for at least $ 45,000 during your stay in Europe.” The insurance available on the internet looks fake. Does anyone know any genuine website/ company to get a short stay health insurance from?

Depends where you are, but I usually find an insurance broker will handle short-term medical insurance policies without costing very much.

Single entry schengen visa on a Mediterranean cruise?
1I’m going on a Mediterranean cruise (ports include Barcelona, Nice, Livorno, Rome, Naples and Sicily, then back to Barcelona). My nationality requires me to get a schengen visa – however I was only given a single entry schengen visa. The ports I will be visiting are countries within the schengen agreement (Spain, France, Italy) – however, we are cruising on international waters. Will I be safe – meaning, will I be allowed to enter Barcelona again?
