going in dec, just wanting to travel info.
Going next month, I was there in March 2005. I will be renting a car there because I plan to drive to Miss. and Houston, TX while I am there. Also any other info will help,,,thanks

My suggestion would be to just stay in the French Quarter! It is so much easier than taking a shuttle… Or, if cost is a concern, look into hotels in the downtown area or in the warehouse district, many are within walking distance.

But, to directly answer your question, here is an option:
The Holiday Inn Westbank (in Gretna, across the river) has free parking and a free shuttle to the ferry, which is also free. It drops you off a couple of blocks away from the Quarter. I stayed there a few years ago. At that time it was pretty decent, and an economical option.

Im trying to book a flight with the hotel included but i wanted to find a place that had a shuttle to and from the airport along with a shuttle to the san diego zoo. I rather not rent a car.

Yes, the Super 8 Motel (Bayview) that is located at 1835 Columbia St. in the Little Italy section of San Diego has a shuttle van that will pick you up at the Airport and they will also arrange to take you to the SD Zoo. You will need to reserve their Van the afternoon before going to the Zoo the next morning. I have stayed at this Super 8 at least 6 times in past 4 years and I’ve always been pleased with the accommodations and their shuttle service. Very convenient location that’s only 2.5 miles from the Airport, 3 miles to the Zoo and an easy 1 mile walk to the Harbor area plus just a 1/2 mile walk to the nearby Light Rail (trolley)
that will take you either East to several (2) excellent shopping Malls or into the downtown areas. You would be just 1 block from 5-6 very good Italian restaurants and nice shops in this unique Little Italy section of San Diego. I’m looking for a Miami hotel (preferably South Beach) that also has a free shuttle to both the Port of Miami and the Miami International Airport. I’m guessing that we’ll fall into about about the 3-4 star hotel price range.

We’ll be staying a couple days after a cruise to enjoy the area, so we’re hoping that we can be within walking distance of the beach. We’re traveling with children ages 9 and 7.

Question: Are there any hotels outside NYC that have a free shuttle to the city?
We are planning a weekend trip to NYC and I see that there is a huge price difference in staying in the city and out of the city (duh!). Do any of the hotels near the airports offer a free shuttle into the city or do we have to take a cab? I need recommendations on where to stay. We may be coming up via Amtrack, but we haven’t decided yet.

Question: Is there a free shuttle to Waikiki hotels from the airport?
We are going to Waikiki in a week and I remember from the last time I went that there was a shuttle that either charged you per luggage or like a few dollars per person. We will be renting a car a few days into our Waikiki trip and just need to get to the hotel which is in Waikiki. Any ideas of what it is or if there is something like it? Thanks!

I believe some hotels may have shuttles that go directly from their property to the airport and back, but I don’t know which ones. Call the hotel where you plan to stay and they can tell you whether or not they have such a shuttle.

If not, when you land and pick up your luggage, there are phones that call shuttle services directly right when you pick up the phone. I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a shuttle to arrive, and they’re usually around $ 8 per person into Waikiki.

You can also call a taxi from the same area where you’d call the shuttle. If there are enough people in your party, a cab is worth it because you won’t have to wait for other passengers AND it might even be cheaper than a shuttle ($ 8 per person vs. $ 35 cab ride).

I honestly don’t know for sure, but I will say that in all the times I have flown in & out of the Honolulu International Airport, I have never seen hotel shuttle buses like I see at many mainland airports. So I am guessing the answer is no. But here is a link to a shuttle that is fee for service.
