The dreaded SWINE FLU has brought some hard reality back onto the world stage. . . but instead of sustained movement + a pleasant holiday in the sun, they R just floating along on a cruise to nowhere! The P&O liner Pacific Dawn had cut short its trip to the Great Barrier Reef and northern Queensland and would not allow passengers to disembark, the state’s premier Anna Bligh said. “This is a great pity for the passengers but this is the right thing to do for public health. . . . . Because the ship owners are cooperating, there is no need for the government to use any quarantine powers. ” The Pacific Dawn has already been blamed for a spike in Australian swine flu cases after authorities last week allowed 2000 passengers to disembark in Sydney despite a suspected swine flu outbreak aboard.
