Question: Where should we go on a family vacation-Bahamas or US Virgin Islands?
We are taking a family vacation in July to celebrate my daughter’s high school graduation, her 18th birthday and also our 20th anniversary. We have narrowed it down to either the Bahamas or the US Virgin Islands. We want a clear, sandy beach but also a nice pool. For the most part we want to relax but want to do a few things like swim with the dolphins and maybe go site seeing a bit. We like nature rather than shopping. We have 5 people in our family so it is difficult to find a hotel room that will allow that many people. I have thought about renting a condo but we really want a nice pool. We have a moderate budget and don’t want to spend a ton of money. Atlantis looks great but we can’t afford $ 800-$ 1000 per night. We were hoping more in the range of $ 200 a night. If we go to the Virgin Islands, which one do you recommend?

Wow, $ 200 per night for 5 is going to be hard even during hurricane season. The best rate you’ll find on St.Thomas will most likely be at the Best Western, the resort is Ok but it’s not 4 star, but it has a great beach. My biz is in private yacht charters, there are some that are affordable but then again
$ 200 per night for 5 is cutting it thin, I know of some starting around $ 2500 for seven days.
