Question: are these good xmas gifts?
I have 3 girls ages 10,8 and 7
they are getting older so I don’t feel the need to get them lots of little gifts but just a few big ones instead. here are my ideas:
the “together” gift that is given to all 3 of them (we do this every year) will be a 14 foot trampoline to play on in the backyard.
for my 10 year old:
-American girl doll “Sonali” 100.00
-personalized duffel bag for her cheer stuff (she’s been doing cheer for 5 years now) 20.00
-giftcard to “justice for girls” department store 50.00
-a netbook (if we can find one for 150.00 or less-mine cost 112.00)
for my 8 year old:
-American girl doll “ruthie” 100.00
-a new bike (hers fell apart literally-bad seat and chain falls off) 45.00
-2 outfits for her american girl dolls 40.00
-gift card to “justice for girls department store” 50.00
-2 new games for her leapster game system 60.00 for both
-american girl “chrissa” dvd 20.00
-barbie clothes 20.00
for my 7 year old:
-American girl doll “kaya”
-a new bike (hers is old too and needs replacing) 45.00
-2 outfits for her american girl dolls 40.00
-giftcard to either “gymboree” or “the children’s place” store 50.00

all 3 will receive a full outfit (dress or pants/top and matching shoes), a new pair of pajamas, and socks/underwear-this is a yearly tradition.

-lip gloss or glitter hair spray,etc

does this sound ok? my fiance and I both have good paying jobs that we’ve been in for a long time. we don’t overly spoil the kids and they only get stuff on holidays or for exceptionally good behavior at home or school…

the dolls are not simply “play with” dolls-anyone who knows american girl knows that these dolls are collector’s items as well. my 17 year old sister in law still buys them!!
oh and we ALL (me and the kids) do the christmas wish tree project each year with my work-we help pass out all the angel tree gifts that were donated. it’s a great learning experience for my girls and they look forward to it every year (we’ve done it the past 3 years)
